Ackland brings sublime art-rock on "Rain," debut album out 4/13

Molly Pease is fascinated with the outcomes that bring us closer to each other. On "Rain," Ackland's latest single, Pease wants to penetrate deep into her subject's intimate realm as she searches for some personal clarity. Pease, who holds an impressive vocal range, guides the listener through a playful contrast of swelling strings and a decadent piano accompaniment. It ultimately takes flight with a soaring finish that draws one's attention with its live-like, unvarnished production.

"Rain" is found on Ackland's self-titled debut effort, which is out on April 13. That day, the band is also holding an album release show at Art-Share LA. Juan Rodríguez

Somme portrays the feeling of loss on video for "Ordinary Fools"

Indie-pop artist Somme has recently released a video to her newest single, “Ordinary Fools,” an ode to a past relationship that left her with a heavy heart. Jordan Cantor, the woman behind Somme, enchants her listeners as she passionately portrays the feeling of loss. “Ordinary Fools” is a work of fiction that every single one of us has been through - love, loss and everything in between. Somme captures her audience in a lyrical spider-web, stripping away the metaphors and telling her story raw: “You got me where you want and I’m trying not to show it.” Do yourself, your heart and your mind a favor and follow Somme on Spotify as her much-anticipated EP will be released on May 4th.
