Let it flow with Soft Bodies, see them live 01.30

The debut EP by Soft Bodies is a record in constant motion. Not motion like a freight train barreling down the line or an airplane dipping and diving through the clouds, but motion like something more organic and common to us all. It pulses, it waves, it flows, and when it skips a beat and jumps right for you, it’s both startling and beautiful. Though the tracks here range from laid back 90’s house fare (in the best way possible) to funky-as-it-gets, they move as smoothly from one to the next as they do from verse to chorus.

Catch Soft Bodies this Saturday (01.30) at Cafe Coco and pick up a free copy of the EP while you're there. -Austin Phy

PREMIERE: KULULULU - "We Are Kulululu"

Donned in the finest of linens and strangest of face masks, experimental rock band Kulululu are officially dropping their new addicting single "We Are Kulululu."  The track bounces back and forth between jazzy progressions and full fledged rock, delivered to you in raucously burstful spurts. You're guaranteed to seizurely gyrate and jump about. They're playing a show at Noon TODAY at the PSU blocks but if you can't make it out, they're playing another show on the 30th at the Turn Turn Turn with Rilla and The Toads.

Check out "We Are Kulululu" below!

The Main Squeeze "Angelus"

The Main Squeeze have released a '70's funk-infused video from the first single, "Angelus", from their forthcoming sophomore album, Mind Your Head. The new album was produced by Randy Jackson and could propel this hard working band into a brighter spotlight. The band has departed for California to perform this month. However, they have announced that they will not be returning to Chicago but setting up shop in LA.

Blake’s debut EP is due out in 2016 under the name “Fusilier” on NYC’s Brassland label. A mix of jazz, dance and R&B, the EP highlights Blake’s immense vocal talents and melodic abilities.

A sample of what's to come can be found via Blake's Instagram feed below. We'll be sure to share the rest of the tunes when they're available, but for now check out the Fusilier website  and Facebook page for updates about the singer, including the EP release and tour dates.
