New Alexandra Gordon EP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Guest House, the new EP from Alexandra Gordon, is available now via L-Cat Records. Soothing harmonies wash over you as delicate, bedroom-folk instrumentation gently guides. These momentary, snapshot-style recordings sweep through one's mind as unobstructed recollections of authenticity. The album is endearing in its beautiful, lo-fi simplicity.

New Maitland LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

The quartet of Maitland recently dropped its debut full-length album Glimpse. Josh and Alex Hines, Evan Moffitt, and Adam Shumski (of Vita and the Woolf) find a delicate wandering/adventurous path. Consistently in pensive flux, the songs capture a cathartic, adaptive power - one that is crisply earnest. Voyaging into a forest of thought, accentuated by enclosing strings of instrumentation, the music takes on dramatic urgency, hitting on a spectrum of emotion. The LP ventures into the bleak, but still allows beauty to shine through. You can catch them this Friday, June 9 at Johnny Brenda's, where they'll be joined by Former Belle and Dirty Dollhouse.

Medium Mystic brings bedroom pop to Pete's Candy Store on 6.5.17

Brenna Ehrlich and Morgan Enos are the driving force behind Brooklyn-based spooky garage-pop project Medium Mystic. Their debut 2016 demo progresses from energetic power pop (“This Is A Head”) to slower (and eerier) tracks like “Halloween,” whose lyrics reveal a more emotional side (“Hey, you can say goodbye in summer / then you can fall asleep. / Would I take care of you? Would you take care of me?”). The band is building up to the release of their debut LP and recently unveiled a new track on their Soundcloud profile entitled "When The Shutter Snaps" (streaming). Medium Mystic will be performing within the Northside Fest at Pete's Candy Store on June 8th. - Lilly Milman, photo by Katie Chow
