Tristen performs at Grimey's on 05.17 to support new single

When it comes to catchy pop hooks in the Music City, Tristen Gaspadarek (who goes by her first name) stands among the best in the game. In recent years, she's toured with the Mountain Goats and Robyn Hitchcock, and she's played as a member of Jenny Lewis's band. Her last album Sneaker Waves dropped in 2017, but now, after spending some quality time in the studio, Tristen will release two new tracks -- "Dream Within a Dream" and its B-side "Red Lava" -- on May 10. Tristen will take some time in the beginning of May to tour the Midwest in support of the new indie pop jams, but she'll return to Nashville on May 17th to play Grimey's New and Preloved Music. Hype yourself up with a listen of Tristen's track "Got Some" below. - Will Sisskind

Tristen Album Release Show 11.1 at The Stone Fox

Tristen released CAVES on October 15th on her own label, PUPsnake. This is a move that exemplifies her whole approach to music: sister's got to do it herself. She comes from the South Side of Chicago, but followed the best path to serve her music down to Nashville, TN. Her sound retains bubblegummy innocence of 60’s pop, the attitude of Dolly Parton and the spirit of David Bowie. According to her video for “Baby Drugs” she is also Nashville’s sweetest little drug mule. She and her faithful band play the Stone Fox this Friday with Meadownoise and Penicillin Baby. -Terra James-Jura

Mercy Lounge Announces Lineup for 10th Anniversary Party

Next Friday and Saturday nights, on January 11th and 12th, Mercy Lounge will celebrate its 10th birthday in true Cannery Row fashion, throwing a party that will span all three venues. On Friday night, you can catch JEFF the Brotherhood, Tristen, Wild Cub, and RiCHiE, and on Saturday, performers will include Cherub, Ravello, The Weeks, and Machines Are People Too. With three stages to fill, more performers will be announced within the coming week via Twitter and Facebook.

If you're broke or just the type to arrive empty handed at parties, Mercy Lounge has your cover covered. On both nights, the first 250 people through the door will get in for free. After that, tickets are $10 for one night or $15 for both and can be purchased here (for night one), here (for night two), or at Grimey's New and Preloved Music, The Groove Record Shop, and Parlour & Juke Salon.

In addition to the full bars in Mercy Lounge, Cannery Ballroom, and the High Watt, both shows are presented in part by Yuengling and Brooklyn Brewery.
