New Track: "Get Over It" - Tinmouth

Surprise Time, the forthcoming sophomore album from Tinmouth, is scheduled to arrive on June 2. Set into percussive motion, “Get Over It” is the melodically-sustained tale of maintaining the will to fight, despite consistent losses. While the message is delivered with a self-assured, positive confidence, the harshness of reality still smacks down. Ortlieb’s will host Tinmouth’s record release show on Friday, June 2 with Secret Nudist FriendsLittle Kicks, and Journalism.

The Deli Philly's Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner: Tinmouth

A former hardcore drummer, Guitar Center kid, and gal with “the rage” want to form a band so they head over to Craigslist… Though that might sound like the beginning of an odd, dirty joke, that’s the scenario that lies at the origin of our recent Featured Artist(s) Poll Winner, Tinmouth. Timothy Tebordo (guitar/vocals), Aaron Sternick (bass/vocals), and Alyssa Shea (drums/vocals) have been working on their upcoming album, Surprise Time, for the past year and a half with Dave Downham at Gradwell House, and are “pretty psyched” to drop it this spring. Check out what else they’ve been up to and what they are all about in our latest interview with the Philly indie rock trio HERE!

New Tinmouth Double Single Release Available for Streaming & Purchase

The trio of Tinmouth recently issued the concisely titled EP A Letter From Home. As the band traverses the east coast with Batty, Auxiliary Mammals, and Sister City, this pair of sonic postcards plants the seeds for next year’s full-length record. Ruminate in the songs' stirring, gritty melodies, anchored in rumbling, escalating backend that cruises and then accelerates toward the limits.

Busses LP Release Show at JB's Feb. 14

Refined tenacity that purposely explores, navigating through different avenues in a clean, trippy dance and consuming listeners in the process, Dave Brett, Jason Bachman, and Nick Apice, otherwise known as Busses, are set to release their new record Wizard of the Eye on Tuesday, February 17. Tonight, those gathered at Johnny Brenda’s will celebrate the album when the group occupies the middle slot of a bill headlined by Northern Arms and kicked off by Tinmouth. Busses seemed to have mastered their musical vehicle, harnessing a ferocious, spacey nature into focus rather than starting it up and seeing where it decides to go. Though they’re fully capable of drifting, the band always knows that it is in control, and the results are dynamic. With a mesmerizing cascade of vocals in a dimly lit serenading setting providing a spiritual atmosphere, the vast ensemble of Northern Arms gathers steam on their haunting pulpit/stage. With a new album Says scheduled for release next month, melodically loose pop-rock trio Tinmouth get the ball rolling. Johnny Brenda’s 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 8pm, $12, 21+ - Michael Colavita
