When former members of BRAINSTORM, Wampire and Blouse creatively combine with parts of Fog Father, you get an indelibly lo-fi, twee, garage pop-like sound à la a cocktail of Cults, Beach House and Ariel Pink that is impossible not to lovingly drink up. That cocktail comes by the name of Portland group Reptaliens, and they're taking their delicious sounds on a musical ride down the West Coast.

Reptaliens as a group may be newer, but its members are vets in the Portland music scene that know their way around a tour or two. This upcoming week-long excursion will find them starting out with their tour kickoff as part of XRAY.fm's benefit show and making their way down to the sunny skies of Los Angeles for a few shows, before stopping in Eugene on their way back up to Portland.

Garage pop outfit Susan have been steadily releasing a string of brisk, guitar-driven anthems that amp up the scuzz. There was certainly an effective aesthetic in play, though it didn't really let us into what Susan really wanted to tell us. It turns out the trio had been holding onto their most significant statement yet with "I've Been Known", a hooky, instantly-hummable number that fully lets its guard down and teaches us that there's no shame in doubting things while you're in a state of flux. 

"I've Been Known" is the first single off of Susan's debut full-length Never Enough, which comes out on April 29 via Volar Records. 

All-female trio Susan share a punk-meets-pop ethos that puts them in the same bracket as other power-pop bands like The Go Go's and early Bangles. The brisk seven minutes that make up their debut 7" Just Call It are short, sweet and to the point, cheerful, jangly tunes with a surf-rock edge that highlight harmony and sharp hooks. The 7" inch is just a taste until they release a five-song cassette through Burger Records early next year.
