The Smoking Flowers come home to The 5 Spot on 04.13

The old adage goes: Couples who rock together stay together. And The Smoking Flowers, made up of Kim and Scott Collins, have rocked together in love and in music for two decades. Anyone close to Nashville's underground scene knows the Collins' rootsy music, and probably knows the recent story of Kim's battle and triumph over breast cancer. Her holistic recovery, along with a tour with Scott across the country in their Volvo 240 station wagon, led to two albums: 2018's rousing release Let's Die Together, and the upcoming juxtaposing acoustic album Snowball Out Of Hell. After a few years of bouncing from state to state, the Smoking Flowers are coming home to Nashville to play a set at The 5 Spot on April 13. It will be a celebration of Kim's good health, of the Smoking Flowers' new tunes, and of the love the Collinses share for music, for life, and for each other. Check out the music video for "Here 4 U Now" from Let's Die Together below. - Will Sisskind

The Smoking Flowers release new song "Here 4 U Now" ahead of upcoming album "Let's Die Together"

The Smoking Flowers (aka husband and wife duo Kim and Scott Collins) have been around the Nashville scene for a minute, and are finally back with a new album this year. Their latest single "Here 4 U Now" rocks and rolls, leaving an anthemic taste in your mouth. It feels like every part of the song is driving and rhythmically interesting- even the vocals. The band just played The Basement in Nashville and their new album "Let's Die Together" is out June 22nd. -Geena Kloeppel

Video Premier: The Smoking Flowers "A Bow and Nothing More"

The Deli Nashville is thrilled to premier this original Christmas song by The Smoking Flowers. Titled “A Bow and Nothing More,” it’s a swinging tune that wholeheartedly embraces 60’s camp. Featuring the ethereal Kim Collins as Sexy Housewife, Sexy Drummer, and Sexy Woman-Only-Wearing-a-Bow, it indentifies and fills the need for more innuendo in holiday music. The video was co-directed by the husband and wife duo, and filmmaker Davis Adams. It’s a fun mini-film, and black and white bits make it classy, despite the vignette ending with Scott Collins (‘Hipster Santa’) scrambling out of the frame in a dash for some Christmas nookie. This one goes out to all those who just can't hear "Jingle Bell Rock" one more time. –Terra James-Jura
